2012 Oscar Nominations Revealed

We now know who the voters will choose from for next month’s Oscars. The nominees for the 2012 Oscars are in, announced this morning by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak and actress Jennifer Lawrence, who received an Oscar nomination last year for “Winter’s Bone”.

Leading the pack  is Marin Scorsese’s “Hugo” with 11 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director.

FOX News Radio’s Sabrina Sabbagh has details on some of the other nominees from Los Angeles:

There are nine Best Picture nominees, including “The Artist”…

“War Horse”, “Moneyball”, “The Descendants”, “Midnight in Paris”, “The Help”, “Hugo”, “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close”, and “Tree of Life” are also contenders. In the acting categories, Meryl Streep is up for the top honor for “The Iron Lady”…

She faces stiff competition from early favorite Viola David for “The Help”.

George Clooney was nominated for “The Descendants” and Brad Pitt for “Moneyball”.
