Paul Mauro: Our Government Has The Resources To Protect American Citizens, We’re Just Not Utilizing Them
Retired NYPD inspector Paul Mauro joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to reflect on whether the U.S. government is fulfilling its duty to protect every citizen 21 years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
“We’re down in recruitment across the board in policing in general, and even the federal government in terms of law enforcement. And at some point we may have to face the fact that we don’t have the resources. I would argue we still have the horses to run the race. We’re just not utilizing them. I mean, in many instances, the mechanisms you need are still there. They’ve just been scuttled. They don’t want to do it. And the border is a very, very good example. We have no idea who’s coming in. And there are many articles that we’ve read about terrorist entities coming in across the border. That was the case even when I was doing this work. Hezbollah is a very adept organization. They’re sort of the A-Team of the terrorist groups coming out of Lebanon, supported by Iran. And they’ve utilized that border, as of course you would were you in their position. So we need to wise up, and unfortunately, we generally only wise up when something very bad happens.”
Paul also shares his thoughts on the calls by certain progressive lawmakers like New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to “defund the police”. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
