New York Post financial correspondent Lydia Moynihan joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share her thoughts on how a lot of mainstream media outlets were not in touch with the issues that actually mattered to voters in the 2024 presidential election.
“I mean, yeah, X was obviously super critical, but I think this was certainly a referendum on the media. And I think the media is important. I don’t think that the conclusion should be that we don’t need news anymore. But I think you realize, like, media needs to be more accountable than the politician that they’re supposedly holding to account. And the other big takeaway, I think is just now I know, you know, we spoke earlier about the Fareed Zakaria monologue about you know, this is why they lost. But what’s so problematic is for so long, the Democratic Party hasn’t been able to take any criticism at all because it’s like that’s all very valid. But until they lost in a sweeping landslide for the Republicans, no one was able to offer that wisdom, it felt like. Because you would just be canceled if you say, okay, immigration might be a problem. It’s like, like why do you hate Latinos? You know, and so it’s like, that’s really problematic for a party to be successful when you can’t have a dialog about what matters to voters.”
