On Thursday, it was announced that Special counsel Robert Mueller has impaneled a grand jury in order to aid his investigation into possible collusion between President Trump’s Campaign and Russia. Tom Shillue reacted to the breaking news on The Tom Shillue Show.
Tom was joined by Mary Kissel of The Wall Street Journal. Mary did not think that this new revelation really means that much because what is being investigated does not rise to a crime as of right now. She compared the Russia investigation to a fishing expedition, and said that it still does not appear to be going anywhere.
Mary does not think that the investigation should include looking into any business ties that President Trump may have had with Russia. Mueller should only be investigating whether or not there was collusion between his campaign and Russia during the 2016 Election.
According to Mary, this all goes back to Jeff Sessions’ decision to recuse himself from the Russia investigation. She thinks that the AG’s decision was the “original sin” in the whole thing.
