From the Revolutionary War to Operation Iraqi Freedom, advances in medicine and technology have allowed many more soldiers to survive injuries that used to mean certain death. More than two million living US veterans have, while putting their lives on the line for this country, lost limbs or sustained some other devastating injury. Their lives are forever changed, and each day remains a constant battle to do the things that most of us take for granted. But through their own courage and perseverance, and with help from modern technology, many have turned what used to be the end into a new beginning.

From a soldier who lost both of his legs to gunshot wounds and frostbite at Korea’s notorious “Frozen Chosin,” to a triple amputee Vietnam veteran who later became a championship skier, the determination of the men you will meet in this special episode of “War Stories with Oliver North” will truly inspire you.
