One Couple’s Cracker Barrel Quest
A 40-year-long quest to visit every Cracker Barrel in the nation is nearing an end for an Indiana couple.
FOX’s Gary Baumgarten has their unusual story:
Ray and Wilma Yoder, both of whom are 80, decided to visit Cracker Barrels as Ray fulfilled his duties delivering recreational vehicles for coachman all across the nation.
There are 645 Cracker Barrel restaurants in the United States. The Yoder’s have visited 644 of them. Most recently, on July 7 in Lavonia, Georgia, during its grand opening.
The last one they’ll visit is in Tualatin, Oregon, just outside of Portland.
Ray Yoder says it all started as a way to take the boredom out of being on the road all the time, choosing Cracker Barrels because they found them to offer a down-home, friendly atmosphere.
The Yoder’s have become minor celebrities at Cracker Barrels over the years, sometimes receiving gift packages along with their checks.
