Inmates Save a Deputy’s Life

Six prisoners in Georgia are being rewarded for saving a sheriff’s deputy’s life.

    FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:

They were on work detail at a cemetery in their jail uniforms June 12, when a sheriff’s deputy collapsed in the heat and instead of running away, six Polk county Georgia inmates rushed to save him, taking off his bulletproof vest to perform CPR and they used his work phone to call 9-1-1.

He’s fine now and on Monday the sheriff’s office treated the six prisoners to a thank you lunch in a park with desserts made by the deputy’s relatives. And this is an even better thank you… The Polk county sheriff says he’ll reduce each inmate’s sentence by about 1/4.
