SAVIN’ UP… Nearly 1/4 of Americans Aren’t Financially Prepared for an Emergency
Nearly one in four Americans don’t have one penny saved in case of an emergency.
FOX’s Jim MacKay has more on some new numbers that shows just how much Americans are saving:
Bankrate is out with their new survey on the average Americans financial stability. One stat that really popped was 24% of Americans say they have no money saved for an emergency or massive medical bill. That might sound shocking to some, but that’s actually the lowest level since 2011 since Bankrate starting tracking these numbers.
31 percent say they have an adequate savings to cover six months worth of expenses, that’s the highest Bankrate has ever seen. So while we still need to work on our savings, things are starting to look up.
