President Trump Signs Cyber Security Executive Order

President Trump has signed an executive order to bolster the government’s cyber security system and protect the nation’s critical infrastructure from cyber attack.

FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:

The executive order is aimed at improving the network security of U.S. government agencies, which have been the target of hackers, who have stolen millions of personal records and other forms of sensitive data in recent years.

White House Homeland Security Advisor Tom Bossert:

(Bossert) “So the Russians are not our only adversary on the Internet. And the Russians are not the only people who operate in a negative way on the Internet. The Russians, the Chinese, the Iranians, othe nation states are motivated to use cyber capacity and cyber tools to attack our people and our governments and their data.”

Russia has repeatedly denied assertions that it has user cyber means to meddle in the U.S. election. Bossert said Russia’s alleged election hacks were not a motivation for the order.
