‘Jonah’ Hits Select Theaters

Another big fish swims into movie theaters this week.

FOX’s Jane Metzler reports this one also brings a big message:

Don’t go in the water was the message when a great white shark was attacking swimmers in the 1975 film ‘Jaws’…

This coming Tuesday, a whale takes over the big screen…

A film version of the popular “Sight and Sound” musical “Jonah.” The movie, part of a growing trend toward offering family-friendly faith-based entertainment:

(Enck) “Jonah has been on the stage and been seen by millions of people. And now we’re about to present it in movie theaters. 600 nationwide.”

Josh Enck, President and Chief Creative Officer of Sight and Sound Christian theatres, the big whale, his baby, it swims over the audience:

(Enck) “It’s not spectacle for spectacle sake. But when story and spectacle meet.”

The story from the Bible. Its message one of forgiveness.
