Wisconsin to Protect Free Speech on Campus

There’s a bill in Wisconsin that would punish college students for disrupting free speech rights.

    FOX’s Jeff Monosso reports:

University of Wisconsin school system students who choose to disrupt speeches and demonstrations could be expelled. That in a bill state Republicans are pushing that calls for universities to remain neutral on public issues.

The measure comes as free speech and the First Amendment continues to come under attack, in some cases violently on college campuses across the country:

(Vos) “The goal is to increase the opportunity for speech on campus, regardless of view point.”

Republican state assembly speaker Robin Vos.

Liberal groups says the proposal would lead to more safe spaces on campus where certain viewpoints wouldn’t face criticism. Though, UW system president Ray Cross says he remains committed to ensuring that all voices can be heard.
