Illinois Considering Legalizing Marijuana

Another state is considering legalizing marijuana.

FOX’s Tom Graham explains:

As pot enthusiast celebrate today’s 4-20 date on the calendar, 4-20 being a term synonymous with smoking marijuana, Illinois lawmakers are considering joining a growing list of states legalizing the drug:

(Steans) “We just want to learn about it and really see if there is something here that makes sense for the state of Illinois to also do.”

State senator Heather Steans speaking in the wake of a joint committee hearing of Illinois house and senators meeting to discuss the possibility of giving the green the green light. An actual vote would not be expected in Springfield until next year at the earliest.

Currently, eight states and Washington D.C. allow recreational marijuana use.
