Attorney General Sessions to Police: I’ve Got Your Back

The nation’s top law enforcement official sending a message of support to the nation’s police forces.

FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:

Attorney General Jeff Sessions says that the DOJ will not sign consent decrees for political expediency that will cost more lives by in his words, “handcuffing the police instead of the criminals.”

Sessions wrote in an editorial for USA Today, that although violent crime is surging in American cities, too much focus has been placed on a small number of police who are bad actors rather than on criminals.

He also wrote that the although the DOJ agrees with the need to rebuild public confidence in law enforcement through common-sense reforms, the reforms must avoid what he called “harmful federal intrusion in the daily work of local police.”
