Judge Neil Gorsuch Stresses Independence During Final Supreme Court Hearing

Day 3 of Judge Neil Gorsuch’s confirmation hearing is now underway.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

Judge Neil Gorsuch renewed a reliance on precedent without offering any hint as to how it would influence potential challenges:

(Feinstein) “You have been very much able to avoid any specificity like no one I have ever seen before. And maybe that’s a virtue. I don’t know.”

Top Committee Democrat Dianne Feinstein has pressed Gorsuch on abortion and right-to-die legislation:

(Gorsuch) “I will exercise the care and consideration, due precedent, that a good judge is supposed to.”

And for a second day, Gorsuch is stressing independence, even from the President, who has nominated him.
