Meeting Between Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto & Mr. Trump is Off
Mexico’s President has upped the ante in a dispute over President Trump’s planned border wall.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto says his planned meeting with President Trump is now off. This, after Mr. Trump tweeted it would be better to cancel next week’s meeting if Mexico is not willing to pay for the southern border wall.
The President told ABC News he wants construction to begin ASAP:
(President Trump) “I would say in months, yeah, I would say in months. Certainly planning is starting immediately.”
A Mexican delegation was already in Washington, intending to lay the groundwork for the meeting that now won’t happen. The Mexico’s President says his country is willing to work with U.S. on deals that favor both nations.
