Want to be at Super Bowl 51?… It’ll Cost You
Want to go to Super Bowl 51? Hope you have some deep pockets.
FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:
This Patriots fan wants to be there:
(Fan) “Next stop Houston. Absolutely, absolutely.”
But ticket prices on the secondary market could set records for this year’s Super Bowl. In part, because there are a record-low number of tickets available.
Ticket-tracking site Ticket-IQ says a little over 1600 seats are available for the game, a third of what was available at this time last year, and barely half of the record-low set in 2010.
The reason for the low inventory: An increase in the popularity of packages, which also include access to parties, concerts and transportation.
The average ticket price is up to about $6,400, easily eclipsing the record of $4,531 set last year. The cheapest seats: $3,600.
