All Shook Up! Black Lives Matter Members File Lawsuit Against Graceland
A civil rights lawsuit has been filed in connection with a “Black Lives Matter” last year in Tennessee.
FOX’s Tonya J. Powers has details:
Five people have filed a federal civil rights lawsuit in Memphis, saying they were discriminated against while trying to take part in a “Black Lives Matter” demonstration at Graceland.
The protest coincided with the yearly candlelight vigil held by fans at Graceland, Elvis Presley’s home on the August 15 anniversary of his death.
The suit claims several people were denied entry to the vigil by Memphis police because they are black and says others were asked to leave a public sidewalk after saying “Black Lives Matter”.
The group is demanding unspecified damages.
Elvis Presley Enterprises, which owns Graceland, and the city of Memphis are named in the complaint, which was filed yesterday.
