Judge Allows Dennis Hastert Case to Move Forward

A lawsuit filed against former House Speaker Dennis Hastert is allowed to move forward.

FOX’s Jane Metzler has the latest:

He’s been sued for breach of contract. A man who claims he was sexually abused by former House Speaker Dennis Hastert decades ago when he was 14 and Hastert was a high school wrestling coach says Hastert still owes him $1.8 million of the 3.5 million he says he was promised to keep quiet.

Kendall County, Illinois judge Robert Pilmer is allowing the civil suit to move forward saying the plaintiff and former wrestler established what was needed to allege what he called a “claim for contract.” The 74-year-old Hastert now serving a 15 month prison term in Minnesota for violating federal banking laws in an attempt to hide the payments he already made.
