Madison Bumgarner Pitches Shutout, Guides Giants Past Mets in N.L. Wild Card

A pitchers duel settled late in the National League Wild Card game.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports from New York:

Madison Bumgarner went the distance, a complete-game four-hit shutout for the Giants, striking out six, as San Francisco beats the Mets, 3-0.

Conor Gillaspie with the swing that broke it all open in the ninth:

(Dan Shulman) “And a fly ball well hit right field, Bruce’s back, turns and it’s gone!”

A three-run shot in the ninth on ESPN.

Noah Syndergaard threw seven innings for the Mets, his stat line included two hits, no runs, 10 strikeouts. The Giants now face the Cubs in the N.L. Divisional Series, game 1 is on Friday in Chicago.
