GOP Lawmakers Move to Impeach IRS Chief
The IRS Commissioner is officially facing an impeachment effort….that is expected to be considered this week.
FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:
A pair of House Conservatives have formally introduced a resolution to impeach IRS Commissioner John Koskinen:
(Fleming) “It’s engaged in a pattern of conduct that is incompatible with his duties as an officer of the United States as follows.”
Louisiana Republican John Fleming reading articles of impeachment on the House floor, accusing Koskinen of lying to Congress about the agency’s targeting of Tea Party and conservative groups.
The measure was offered under special procedures forcing a vote on Thursday. Even if it moves in the House, Senate Democrats have the votes to prevent Republicans from removing Koskinen from office.
