Violence Strikes American University in Afghanistan

    FOX’s Jessica Golloher has the details:

    An attack on the American University in Afghanistan is over. A woman from the university confirming to FOX News that there was gunfire and an explosion, but the violence is over.

    Two professors working at that same university were kidnapped earlier this month en route from work to home. One of the professors is American, the two were taken by five gunmen wearing Afghan military uniforms from their SUV while driving on a main road near the university.

    On Wednesday, a U.S. Army soldier was killed in the Helmand province. There’s been an uptick in violence between the Taliban and Afghan security forces, this after the U.S. and NATO combat troops were withdrawn at the end of 2014.
