From Washington: House Speaker Mike Johnson Reelected to Lead 119th Congress

The 119th Congress began on Friday, with their first order of business being to elect a House Speaker. Though there were concerns House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) may not have the support to secure his reelection, he was able to squeak out a victory after Rep. Keith Self (R-TX) and Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) switched their votes — leaving Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) as the only Republican who refused to support the House Speaker. FOX News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram explains how the vote played out and what Congress’ plans are now that they can move forward.
