Texas Republican Congressman Chip Roy joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why he is opposed to the Senate’s bipartisan $118 billion supplemental spending deal.
“What I keep trying to remind my colleagues is, don’t take the bait of diving too far into this bill and giving it the credence of having to debate it. Look, I have a job. Read the bill, make sure I understand what’s in it, report that out. But at the end of the day, move on, because this is a ploy by Democrats to get cover, to put a beard over the fact that they have been leaving our country exposed to fentanyl, cartels, terrorist criminals, empowering China, making us less safe, undermining Texas, undermining our sovereignty. They’re doing that. And they want to be able to say, hey, we did something. Republicans won’t do it. That’s what they want to run on. They want to be able to give Biden something to have against a Trump candidacy when Trump is running on the border. We’re stupid if we do that, if we even give them like five seconds of air time on this, it’s stupid. We should be saying, we sent you a bill that would do the job. We sent it to you a year ago, you’ve ignored it and Americans have died. You’ve ignored it, and migrants have died. You’ve ignored it, and our enemies become more powerful. And we’re running against you. We’re running against your open borders. You pass our bill or you kiss our ass and you see us in November.”
Rep. Roy also tells Jimmy why he does not support a standalone bill on funding for Israel. Listen to the podcast to hear what else he had to say!
