Joe Theismann: Why Fans Of The Washington Commanders Should Embrace The New Name
Super Bowl winning quarterback and 1983 NFL MVP Joe Theismann joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to give his opinion on his former team’s new name.
Earlier this month, the Washington Football Team revealed they will now be called the Commanders. Joe says he did not have any say in this anticipated decision. He thinks fans will get on board with the nickname, even if it takes some time.
“I had no previous knowledge when it came to the Commanders. We get to celebrate the past because we won World Championships as the Washington Redskins, and so to me we have the great memories of what the football team accomplished. Now it’s a chance to sort of look at the present and what this young group’s going to be able to do going forward. This is going to be their legacy under a new name. I’m fine with it. Give it a chance to seep in. Don’t make a rash judgement and say, I don’t like it. Give it a chance.”
Joe also previews Super Bowl LVI, which will feature Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams taking on Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Later, publisher of The Federalist and Fox News contributor Ben Domenech tells Jimmy why he does not believe former President Donald Trump should make another bid for the White House in 2024.
Plus, Florida Republican Congressman Greg Steube talks about how Democrats have politicized the Coronavirus pandemic and weighs in on the record-setting inflation the U.S. is currently experiencing.
