Brit Hume: Too Much Has Been Left Up To Dr. Fauci During This Pandemic
Fox News Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume makes his debut on Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to shed light on where Dr. Antony Fauci has gone wrong during COVID-19 pandemic.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director has been criticized by many Republican lawmakers for the varying statements he’s made about the coronavirus and how people can best protect themselves from it. According to Brit, Fauci’s determination to stop the spread of COVID ultimately led to him stepping outside of his specific area of expertise.
“I think the problem in the end with Fauci was this. Fauci’s a disease fighter, he’s an epidemiologist. That’s his job. The recommendations that he either went along with or made, or that governors and other health authorities were making across the country, were destined to affect public health across a wide swath of questions, not just COVID. They affected children’s health, children’s education, a wide range of issues. The problem is that he had too much say in these matters and he was focused on one thing. He wasn’t responsible for the economy in these states where it cratered. He wasn’t responsible for children’s mental health. He wasn’t responsible for children’s education. That’s not his department.”
Brit also shares his thoughts on how President Biden could have better handled the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan last year.
Plus, comedian and Head Writer for “Tha God’s Honest Truth” on Comedy Central Charles McBee joins the show to have an honest conversation about the current state of race relations in the U.S. and the lasting legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Later, Fox News Contributor Lisa Boothe stops by to push back on the efforts by some politicians and media members to shame the unvaccinated.
