Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, Family & Emergency Medicine & Fox News Medical Contributor joined Fox News Radio’s Guy Benson Show to discuss vaccine news and the new covid-19 Delta variant making it’s way to the U.S.
Dr. Nesheiwat said,
“If you’re unvaccinated, you are vulnerable to every strain of coronavirus. And yes, even if the vaccines that we have do work there about six to seven percent less affected. So if you’re unvaccinated, yes, I’m concerned, especially in regards to the Delta variant, this Delta variant, has multiple mutations that and that’s what makes it more lethal, more dangerous, and makes you more sick and more likely to be hospitalized because of the double mutation. And it’s shown to be anywhere from 40 to 60 percent more transmissible. So that’s why if you are not vaccinated, really want to consider getting that done right away. Right. Now, this this mutation, this Delta variant represents 60 percent of the cases in the United Kingdom. And it’s right now it’s about six percent of the cases in the U.S.”
