Mark Morgan: Biden’s CBP Pick Is “A Small Town Cop” And “A Liberal Social Advocate”

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, former CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan criticized the choice of Tucson, AZ Police Chief Chris Magnus to be President Biden’s Customs And Border Protection Commissioner nominee.

“The majority of his career, he’s been a small town cop and chief, and now they’re going to anoint him to run the largest federal law enforcement organization in the United States. This is way beyond border security. How about counterterrorism on international level, transnational criminal organizations on an international level, free trade and travel? CBP is the second largest revenue collector outside the IRS. We have international trade partners, importers, exporters. What does this small town chief until recently know? He’s never held a federal position in his life. So let’s set that context aside and now let’s talk about his time as a chief. He has constantly blurred his position between chief and being a liberal social advocate. He’s against the wall. He’s against strong and equal application of the rule of law for those who break it. He’s for sanctuary cities. He’s for amnesty. As the Tucson Chief, he actually prevented his officers from working with Border Patrol to catch an illegal alien fugitive. In addition to that, during Portland, as the CBP personnel are deployed to Portland to try to prevent the courthouse from being taken over and burnt to the ground, he’s out on his little Twitter account furthering his liberal talking points and blatant lies. And now they’re going to put the man in charge of CBP who has dismissed the experts, refuse to work with Border Patrol, and attacked CBP for doing their job.”
