For years, Dr. Kelly Powers has covered health stories on Fox News programs including The Tom Shillue Show. Recently, however, the surgeon became the story.

The seemingly healthy doctor revealed last year she had a very serious heart condition that almost took her life.

What makes her story even more troubling is Dr. Powers was misdiagnosed and was minutes away from getting unnecessary surgery that could have killed her. Luckily, a doctors discovered was actually wrong with her and got her on the pathway to recovery.
