(AUDIO) Have We Become Too Protective Of Our Snowflakes? Utah Passes Law To Protect Parents Who Want “Free Range Kids”!
Utah has passed the first-ever Free Range Kids bill. This will make it OKAY for parents not to constantly hover over their children and allow them to do things like … play outside.
The idea that a state needs a law to protect parents who merely want their children to have some indpendence had Tom Shillue asking: have we become way too protective of our children?
Lenore Skenazy, president of Let Grow and founder of Free-Range Kids, wrote the law in Utah and joined Tom Shillue on Wednesday to discuss why it is better for our country to let children play outside and walk to school alone.
Tom, who wrote “Mean Dads For A Better America”, and Lenore discuss why our culture has scared parents in to being so protective, but why crime statistics suggest it has never been safer to go out in play.
