Jon Gruden is Back and Ready to Roll in Oakland: “I Never Wanted to Leave”

The Oakland Raiders officially welcome back their old head coach to the sidelines again.

FOX’s Matt Napolitano reports:

It was 20 years ago that the Raiders originally hired Jon Gruden as their head coach before trading him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002.

Gruden, out of the NFL since the 2008 season, is officially back, introduced as head coach of the raiders once again in a press conference Tuesday.

Gruden on coming back to where his head coaching career started:

(Gruden) “Obviously this is very emotional for me. I never wanted to leave the Raiders. I never thought I’d be back, but here I am and I’m ready to get to work.”

Nine men have helmed the Raiders since Gruden’s departure as he rejoins the team on a record 10-year $100 million deal.
