Most American Families are Getting Richer

Most American families growing richer and gets even better for the wealthy.

FOX’s Hilarie Barsky has the details:

The average worth of households rising 16 percent last year from 2013 to over $97,000. This according to a survey released from the Federal Reserve. The figures echoing recent Census Bureau data showing that middle class incomes rose for around the first five years of the economic recovery that began in 2009.

But the Fed’s survey shows the depth of the nation’s wealth and income gaps with disparities existing along lines of income, race and ethnicity, and between cities and rural dwellers.

And even as Black and Hispanic families reported large financial gains, the median wealth for White families was still 10 times that for blacks and around eight times that for Latinos.

Higher-earning households reaping most of the gains, with one percent of richest families holding nearly 39 percent of the wealth in the country.
