New Words Added to the Dictionary

    The Merriam Webster.com dictionary swells by more than 250 new words.

    The 150-year-old Merriam Webster Dictionary adding more 21st century words and definitions. They range from things we can put in our mouths like Froyo, frozen yogurt and the pungent hot sauce Sriracha to things we can’t eat, like word salad, a symptom of a mental disorder, today also popular for describing head scratching political speeches or other incoherent writings

    The alt right political movement making it in along with tech related additions like ransomware and troll, an antagonizing person on the internet, can now mean an offensive person in real life.

    And as for the meaning of dog whistle, those in the know will know it’s something with a secondary meaning intended only to be understood by a particular group of people.
