President Trump’s Plan for National Monuments

Some national monuments blocks of federal protected land may be shrinking.

FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

President Trump claims his predecessor used a 100-year-old law to do a “land grab” and says he wants to shrink the size of some national monuments to give land back to states. A leaked memo shows the Interior Department recommending reducing Bears Ears and Grand Staircase Escalanta in Utah.

At least two dozen other monuments could also be affected. The Wilderness Society is threatening legal action, calling the recommendations an unprecedented assault on our parks and public lands.
