Lynyrd Skynyrd Film Violates 30-year-old Agreement, Judge Says

A film surrounding the plane crash that killed two members of Lynyrd Skynyrd has been cancelled.

FOX’s Jacquelyn Karl with details:

The production of a Bio-pic called “Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash” about the life of the band’s former drummer Artimus Pyle has been shut down by a judge because it’s in violation of a consent order Pyle and his fellow bandmates signed in 1988, according to Rolling Stone.

There was also reportedly a “blood oath” made not to exploit the band’s name and history. The agreement stipulated there can be no use of the band’s name or that of singer Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gaines who died in a plane crash in 1977.
