AG Sessions Slams Chicago Over Sanctuary Policies, Praises Miami Dade County’s

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has delivered a tale of two sanctuary cities from Florida, complimenting one town, and criticizing another.

FOX’s Jessica Rosenthal reports:

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said they sent letters to 10 jurisdictions earlier this year about their lack of cooperation with federal immigration agents. But he went to Miami Dade County Wednesday to praise the area for coming under compliance. He also slammed the city of Chicago for its murder rate, and said sanctuary policies are partly to blame:

(Sessions) “For the sake of the city, Chicago’s leaders need to recommit to policies that punish criminals instead of protecting them. They need to protect their citizens and not the criminals.”

Chicago police say in a statement that undocumented immigrants aren’t to blame for the violence, and in fact shootings have decreased this year.
