Man Ticketed in Wheelchair for Going Too Slow
A man in a wheelchair ticketed by Denver police for going too slowly while crossing the street.
FOX’s Gary Baumgarten with the story:
Kyle Wolfe says he was crossing with the light. But because some packages on his lap slipped to the ground, he couldn’t get across before the signed turned to don’t walk:
(Wolfe) “I did not have enough time to get to my destination.”
It was then that Wolfe’s wheelchair was struck by an SUV. He was tossed, suffering scrapes and bruises. His wheelchair totaled. But what came next stunned him.
He was issued a ticket for disobeying the traffic signal which gives you 20 seconds to cross the street. Denver police say Wolfe will have the opportunity to fight that ticket in court.
