A Lot of Uncertainty for Transgender Troops

President Trump’s surprise decision to ban transgender troops in three tweets has confused military leaders.

FOX’s Jon Decker reports from Washington:

A Pentagon official tells FOX News that “until formal guidance is issued by President Trump nothing is going to change” regarding the transgender policy. The officials explained that tweets don’t count as “formal guidance.”

President Trump announced to the world on Twitter Wednesday morning that transgender troops were no longer welcome in the U.S. military in any capacity.

The tweet has left as as many as 6600 transgender troops in limbo.

If the President wants this new policy to take effect, it will have to be drafted by the National Security Council and sent to Defense Secretary James Mattis and the Pentagon for implementation.
