President Trump Announces Ban on Transgender Individuals Serving in Military
President Trump changed military policy in a series of tweets this morning.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
For more than a year now, transgender people have been allowed to openly serve in the military. It’s unclear what happens to them now that President Trump has announced they’ll no longer be allowed to serve in any capacity.
Citing costs and disruption, the President announced the ban on Twitter this morning. In a statement, the Pentagon referred all questions to the White House and said that revised guidance will be provided in the near future.
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi tweeted: “This fight is not over. Hatred will never defeat pride.”
