Comey: I was Fired Because of the Way I was Conducting the Russia Investigation

James Comey accused the Trump administration of plain and simple lies during his testimony on Thursday.

FOX’s Jared Halpern reports from Capitol Hill:

James Comey says he believes the FBI’s investigation into potential links between the Trump campaign and Russia led to his abrupt firing:

(Comey) “I know I was fired because of something about the way I was conducting the Russia investigation was in some way putting pressure on him in some way irritating him and he decided to fire me because of that.”

Comey did confirm for this Committee, however, that President Trump was not personally under investigation.

Still, Comey accused the Trump administration of “plain and simple lies” by claiming the FBI was in disarray, later saying he kept written notes about his one on one meetings with the President out of concern the President might lie about the nature of the meeting.
