Mr. Met Canned After Flipping Off Fans
It seems the New York Mets’ mascot is as frustrated as the fans with the team’s disappointing start.
FOX’s Tom Rigatti explains:
“Meet the Mets, Meet the Mets…”
You wouldn’t want to meet the Mets’ mascot, known as “Mr. Met,” who has a smiley face fashioned as a baseball. That’s because last night, he was a “foul ball” in a foul mood!
”Mr. Met” flipped his middle finger at a fan during the team’s 7-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Of course, it was caught on video. And also of course, it’s going viral.
The Mets are out with a statement of apology, with an assurance that the person inside the costume won’t be playing the part of Mr. Met ever again.
