Democratic Senators Still Want Answers from AG Sessions

There are lingering questions about the Attorney General’s contacts with the Russians.

FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

Democratic Senators Patrick Leahy and Al Franken still want answers about Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ testimony during his confirmation hearing, when he was asked about his contacts with Russian officials:

(Sessions) “I have been called a surrogate a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians.”

The Senators asked FBI Director James Comey to investigate, and were expecting a response on May 12. On May 9, Comey was fired.

Sessions has said he did meet with the Russian ambassador, but it was in his capacity as a Senator, not as a campaign surrogate.
