President Trump’s Son-in-Law Pushes Back Report Alleging Back-Channel with Russia
A source close to the President’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is pushing back a report suggesting an attempted back-channel with Russia.
FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Washington:
A source who has spoken to Jared Kushner, the President’s son-in-law and a senior White House adviser says a December meeting at Trump Tower with the Russian ambassador focused on Syria and wanting to hear directly from Russian generals in Syria, Kushner and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn were asked by the Russians about using a secure line.
Kushner said they didn’t have one and suggested using Russian equipment. The source says it never happened and no permanent back channel was considered.
The push-back coming amid an ongoing investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials.
