Warner: If Tapes Exist, We’ve Got to Make Sure They “Don’t Mysteriously Disappear”
President Trump being urged to hand over any tapes he has of conversations between himself and former FBI director James Comey.
FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
Lawmakers from both parties are calling on President Trump to turn over any tapes of conversations with fired FBI Director James Comey.
Virginia Democratic Senator Mark Warner:
(Warner) “First of all, we’ve got to make sure that these tapes, if they exist, don’t mysteriously disappear. So I’ve asked, others have asked, to make sure that the tapes are preserved, if they exist.”
Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway on CBS Face the Nation declined to confirm or deny whether any such tapes exist:
(Conway) “The President declined to say anything too. He said he’s not going to comment further on it.”
If there are recordings, Republican Senator Mike Lee of Utah told “FOX News Sunday” it was “inevitable” that they would be subpoenaed.
