Democrats Question Timing of Comey Firing

Democrats are signaling there could be a battle in the Senate over who will lead the FBI.

FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

Democrats are already promising an intense investigation into whomever the President appoints as the next director of the FBI. Virginia Senator Tim Kaine vowing:

(Kaine) ”One of the most searching nomination hearings that will ever to be held in the United States Senate.”

They’re also repeating calls for a special prosecutor, who would take the probe out of the hands of the FBI:

(Schumer) “And far away from the heavy hand of this administration.”

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer also requesting a closed-door briefing with the Attorney General and deputy Attorney General.
