President Trump has given his reason for firing James Comey as FBI Director.
FOX's Jon Decker has the details from the White House:
Vice President Pence on Capitol Hill this morning defending the decision by President Trump to fire FBI Director James Comey:
(Vice President Pence) "Already this morning, the President is in the process of evaluating individuals who will be able to fill that spot, lead the FBI and restore the confidence of the American people."
Pence said the President was following the recommendation of deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein, who wrote in a memo that he cannot defend Comey's handling of the bureau's investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while she served as Secretary of State.
