Florida Principal Faces Backlash Following Controversial Guideline
A Florida elementary school principal who suggested keeping white students together has left that job.
FOX’s Chris Foster reports:
Christine Hoffman put in for a transfer from Campbell Park Elementary School in St. Petersburg, Florida, while district officials decide what to do with her.
She’d e-mailed teachers guidelines about how students should be grouped, mixed reading levels, no more than two known-misbehaving students per class with white students put in the same class.
She wrote in a letter to parents later, she just meant that no class should have only one white child. The school is mostly black.
She’s white, and says she understands how racially insensitive the guideline was.
