NHL Players Are Upset About Not Playing in the 2018 Winter Games

Some NHL stars are upset they won’t be playing in the next Olympics.

FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:

Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin is one of the greatest hockey players in the world and says he doesn’t care if the NHL isn’t letting its players participate in the 2018 Olympics. He’s still going.

Other upset players have hinted they may go too and that’s fine with International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach:

(Bach) “Any NHL player, then he’s most welcome at the Olympic Games.”

The 2018 Winter Games will be in South Korea and the NHL says the matter is closed for discussion, citing travel and time concerns not wanting to shut the season down for nearly three weeks to let players compete, like they have in every Olympics since 1998.
