FOX's Ashley Dvorkin chats with actress Naomi Campbell in today's "FOX Celebrity Profile":
I'm Ashley Dvorkin with your FOX Celebrity Profile.
Model and actress Naomi Campbell has now starred in two Lee Daniels series. She had a recurring role on 'Empire' then joined 'Star' as 'Rose', the mother of one of the singers in the determined girl group at the center of the show:
(Campbell) "Rose is just there, whenever her daughter calls, she just gonna be there. She just wants to be in her life, and you know I think these girls really deserve a break. They are really trying."
Campbell says she appreciates how show Daniels doesn't shy away from tackling social issues:
(Campbell) "Sometimes people don't want to watch the news, they're fed up with the news, they're going to watch 'Star'. You'll get it from 'Star' if you don't get it from the news. It's the way of the world today."
And when she's not acting or modeling, Campbell is very passionate about her philanthropic work:
(Campbell) "I've been around the world and seen some very dire situations and then gone back and seen hope. Nothing feels better than that when you go back and you see what you've raised for and what happens and how it's turned out."
