‘Cries From Syria’ Director Says “In Order to Prevent, We Need to Learn” from the Past

“Cries From Syria” is a film that focuses on the humanitarian crisis and civil war currently going on in the country over the past five years. Oscar-nominated director Evgeny Afineevsky directed the film after capturing hundreds of hours of war footage from activists and citizen journalists. Despite all that is still going on in the country, Afineevsky says he hopes the film will give hope to those that pray for a better tomorrow.

The film will premiere on HBO on March 13. HBO describes the film as “a harrowing exploration of the humanitarian crisis in Syria and the devastating civil war that has defined the country over the last five years.”
