Andrew Puzder Withdraws Nomination for Labor Department

President Trump’s choice to the Labor Department has withdrawn his nomination.

FOX’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

The day before his confirmation hearing with a Senate committee, Andrew Puzder ended his prospects to become Labor Secretary. Sources tell FOX News the decision came after about a dozen Republicans express reservations or concerns, coupled with expected unanimous opposition from Democrats:

(Murray) “His vision for our economy is one in which workers are squeezed so those at the top can boost profits higher and higher.”

Washington state Democrat Patty Murray is also critical of the fast-food chain CEO’s reported treatment of women.

Republican concerns centered largely on the acknowledgement Puzder had not paid taxes on a housekeeper who was not authorized to work in the U.S.
